How to get results in Hot Weather Concreting?

The most important thing to remember when placing concrete during hot weather is that too rapid evaporation is concrete’s worst enemy. Covering the surface immediately after finishing with tarpaulin, burlap, membrane curing compound or any other moisture-retaining material will prevent evaporation, permit the concrete to cure properly and give stronger and more durable concrete.

What provision can be made to avoid cracks?

Concrete can become susceptible to cracking for several reasons, some of which are inherent and unavoidable. They can be avoided by proper curing and by protecting the concrete from hot sun and drying winds during finishing. Control joints should be correctly placed to not allow the concrete to expand and shrink with the weather.
